A 12-year-old boy died after being hit by a bike on SH-58 in Lakshmipur Jamunia of Udakishunganj police station area of Madhepura. The deceased was identified as Pawan Kumar, 12-year-old son of Vijay Malakar, resident of Jamunia Ward-22. The bike rider fled after the incident. There was a stir in the area after the death of the child. A crowd of people gathered nearby.
Pawan was playing on the roadside
Sunil Kumar, cousin of deceased Pawan Kumar, said that on Friday Pawan was playing on the roadside near his house. During this time a speeding biker ran over him, due to which he was seriously injured. His family admitted him to Udakishunganj PHC, where after first aid he was referred to Sadar Hospital. He was treated for about an hour at Sadar Hospital. Seeing no improvement in his condition, he was referred to JNKT Medical College Hospital. He died on the way while being taken to the hospital. As soon as the news of his death was received, there was uproar in the house. The parents and other family members are inconsolable. Pawan was the youngest of two brothers.
Police engaged in investigation, search for bike rider continues
Here, information about the death of the child in a road accident was given to Udakishunganj police. The police sent the body to Sadar Hospital for postmortem. In this regard, Udakishunganj Police Station Head Vinod Kumar Singh said that information about the death of the child in a road accident has been received. The body has been handed over to the family after postmortem. Action will be taken as per rules on receiving the application. The bike rider is being searched.
