A juvenile prisoner died in a juvenile correctional home in Bihar’s Gaya district on Monday evening. The juvenile prisoner has been identified as Amit Raj (17), son of Rajesh Paswan, a resident of Bairagi Mohalla in Delha police station area. Police reached the spot as soon as they received information about the incident and sent the body to Anugrah Narayan Magadh Medical College Hospital for post-mortem. Police said that juvenile prisoner Amit Raj, who was imprisoned in the juvenile home in a murder case, committed suicide by hanging himself today. However, the family members allege that Amit Raj has been murdered.
He was hanging from a noose in the bathroom of the juvenile home
Regarding the incident, Rampur SHO Ravi Kumar said that Amit Raj alias Takla, a resident of Bairagi Mohalla of Delha police station area, committed suicide by hanging himself in the bathroom of the juvenile correctional home at around 6.15 pm on Monday. On receiving the information, the juvenile prisoner was brought to Anugrah Narayan Magadh Medical College for treatment, where the doctors declared him dead. He said that the case is being investigated on the complaint of the family members.
The family members created a ruckus in the hospital
After the incident, the juvenile correction home administration, after receiving information about the hanging of the child inmate Amit Raj, hurriedly brought the child prisoner to Anugrah Narayan Magadh Medical College Hospital for treatment, where the doctors declared him dead. As soon as the family came to know about the death, there was an uproar. The family members started creating a ruckus in the hospital itself. There was chaos in the emergency ward of the hospital for some time. The family members say that my child has been murdered. However, after the hospital administration explained to them, the angry family members calmed down. The police station in-charge said that you submit an application, the matter will be investigated.
