Bihar News: A letter has been issued by the Cabinet Secretariat regarding this meeting. The Bihar Cabinet meeting is being held under the chairmanship of Chief Minister Nitish Kumar after 22 days. Many main proposals can be approved in this.

Chief Minister Nitish Kumar called a special meeting of ministers after the by-election voting. There is information that the proposal for increasing dearness allowance of government employees has been approved in the meeting. That means, now the dearness allowance of government employees and pensioners has increased by 3 percent. Its benefits will be available from July 1, 2024 and the employees will also get three months’ arrears. After this increase the total DA will become 53%. At present the benefit of 49% dearness allowance is being given.

Government increases dearness allowance twice in a year

It is being told that the employees of seventh pay scale will get the benefit of three percent DA. There are approximately six lakh employees in the seventh pay scale in the state. The number of teachers in government schools is also around five lakh, while the number of pensioners is four lakh. The government increases dearness allowance twice a year. It is affected from 1st January and 1st July. In fact, on October 16, PM Modi had announced three percent DA of central government employees. After this, it was believed that CM Nitish Kumar should announce DA benefits to the state employees before Diwali and Chhath. A cabinet meeting was held on 22 October but this proposal was not approved.
