National General Secretary Kishan Chand Tyagi (KC Tyagi) has resigned from the post of National Spokesperson of Chief Minister Nitish Kumar’s party Janata Dal United. He confirmed this in a conversation with ‘Amar Ujala’ and said that he has been in this role since 1984. That was the era of Karpoori Thakur, Biju Patnaik etc. I have been playing this role since then. Now I am not of the age to talk all the time, so I have left the responsibility of National Spokesperson.
Janata Dal United general secretary Afaque Ahmed Khan issued a letter and gave this information. He said that KC Tyagi has resigned from the post of spokesperson. He has given personal reasons for leaving the post. In his place Rajiv Ranjan Prasad has been made the national spokesperson of JDU.
Chief Spokesperson on 22 May 2023 was made
Kishanchand Tyagi, who had worked with Chief Minister Nitish Kumar for a long time, returned to the post of Janata Dal United (JDU) once again with respect on 22 May 2023. This time he was made a special advisor, but to keep him in the mainstream, he was also given the responsibility of national chief spokesperson. He was removed from the post of national general secretary and spokesperson in March, when he said that he himself did not want to work on any responsible post in the party.
He became MP from this seat for the first time in 1989
In 1989, for the first time, people elected Janta Dal candidate Kishan Chand Tyagi from Hapur-Ghaziabad seat and sent him to Parliament. He got full benefit of being active in politics and being a local. However, his tenure lasted only two years. During this time he remained available among the public. 73-year-old KC Tyagi contested for the first time from Ghaziabad-Hapur Lok Sabha seat in 1984 from Chaudhary Charan Singh’s party Lok Dal and lost to Kedar Nath Singh of Congress. He remained at second place. He got 22.5 percent votes.
Became National General Secretary of Janata Dal in 1989
For the second time, he became the national general secretary of Janata Dal in 1989 and contested from Ghaziabad. He defeated Congress stalwart and MP BP Maurya. In 1991, he contested from this seat for the third time on a Janata Dal ticket and lost to Ramesh Chand Tomar of the BJP. He lost by about 24 thousand votes. After this, in 1996, he contested for the fourth time from Ghaziabad seat on a Samajwadi Party ticket but had to face defeat. He stood second in this election. In 2004, he contested from Meerut seat on a Janata Dal United ticket but had to face defeat. In 2012, he became a Rajya Sabha MP from Bihar. He is the national spokesperson of JDU. He represents the state of Bihar. He is among the close associates of Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar. He is a resident of Morta village of the district.
