Bike riding criminals shot dead a road construction contractor near Kadama petrol pump under Puraini police station area of Madhepura district. The deceased was identified as Pawan Kumar Rai (44), son of Janeshwari Rai, resident of Lashkari Ward 9 of Udakishunganj police station area. There is chaos among the family members after the incident. Information about the incident is received and the police has started investigating the matter.

According to the information, contractor Pawan Kumar was getting road construction work done in Khawan Diara. Pawan Kumar Rai was returning home with four members of his family after getting the road blackened at around 10 pm on Wednesday night. Meanwhile, near Kadama petrol pump of Puraini police station area, six criminals riding two bikes who came from behind, overtook the car and stopped it. As soon as the car stopped, criminals riding a bike took out the contractor Pawan Kumar Rai sitting in the middle of the car and shot him with bullets. Pawan died on the spot. After this the criminals fled.
Pawan Rai was shot in this dispute
After the incident, Pushpam Kumar, nephew of deceased Pawan Kumar Rai, told that the criminals shot about 15 bullets at Pawan Kumar Rai. After the miscreants left, they called the police and informed about the incident. Police of Puraini police station reached the spot and started investigating the incident. It is being told that Pawan Kumar Rai has been shot in a contract dispute. However, the family is not in a position to tell anything in this regard right now. FSL team has been called to the incident site. The police of Puraini police station has started investigating the matter.
The car rider was also shot on December 2
This is the second incident of a car rider being stopped and shot in Madhepura in the last 15 days. Earlier, on the evening of December 2, a youth riding in a car was shot dead by bike-riding criminals near Jamuniya turn on the road going from Rajpur to Bhittha Tola under Chausa police station area. The deceased was Ravi Kumar Yadav, son of Subhash Yadav, resident of Ward-13 of Puraini police station area. The police have not yet been able to reveal this incident.
FSL team arrived to investigate
Udakishunganj SDPO Avinash Kumar said that as soon as information about the incident was received, the police reached the spot and started investigation. The body has been handed over to the family after post-mortem. The application has not yet been received from the family. FSL team has been called to the spot.
