In Purnia, criminals shot and killed the former chairman of Kasba Nagar Parishad, Awadhesh Yadav. The former chairman was taking a walk alone near his house, when the criminals shot him and fled. The former chairman was seriously injured after being shot. He was immediately admitted to Purnia Max 7 Hospital for treatment, where he died during treatment. After getting information about the incident, Purnia SP Upendranath Verma along with local police reached the spot. The incident took place late Wednesday evening near the Gupt Kali Temple in Kasba of Kasba police station area.

Regarding the incident, local people say that former chairman of Kasba Nagar Parishad, Awadhesh Yadav was strolling alone near the Gupt Kali temple in Kasba. Then four criminals riding on two bikes reached there and one of them shot him in the head. As soon as he was shot, he fell on the ground. Hearing the sound of the bullet, the people around ran there but by then the criminals fled waving their weapons on the bike. As soon as he was shot, the people around took the former chairman to Max 7 hospital in Purnia for treatment, where he died during treatment. After getting the information of the death, the family members are crying inconsolably. After the incident, a crowd of local people gathered at Max 7 hospital. There is a lot of anger among the people about the incident. On receiving the information of the incident, SP Upendranath Verma along with the police of the local police station reached the spot and are investigating the matter.

A CCTV footage of the incident has also surfaced. According to the CCTV footage, the criminal is seen getting off the bike and shooting the former chairman in the head while he was walking and then running away. Regarding the incident, the police say that the reason for the murder has not been revealed yet.
