In Darbhanga, two criminals tricked the shopkeeper in a jewelery shop and escaped with half a kilo of gold. The incident took place in Laheri Tola of Laheriasarai police station area. Police say that the criminals committed the incident by entering a jewelery shop named Shri Ram Kishun Jewellers. The victim shopkeeper immediately informed the police of Laheriyasarai police station about the incident. As soon as information about the incident was received, the police reached the spot and started investigating the matter.

Criminals had come posing as customers
Regarding the incident, the shopkeeper told that around 6 o’clock in the evening, a criminal came to the shop posing as a customer of Shri Ramkishun Jewelers and started asking to show the gold Hanuman ji. The jewelers took out Hanuman ji from the box filled with other jewels and started showing it. Meanwhile, the criminal came out after snatching a box full of jewellery. The second criminal was already standing after starting the bike. The criminal sitting inside the shop came out of the shop with a box of gold and fled away on a bike. After the incident, the shopkeeper came out of the shop making noise, but by then the criminals had fled from there. Local people informed the police about the incident by dialing 112. As soon as information about the incident was received, the police of Laheriasarai police station reached the spot and started investigation.

Regarding the incident, Laheriasarai police station incharge Deepak Kumar said that the matter is being investigated. The shopkeeper is also being interrogated. He told that the criminals had come to the shop posing as customers and asked the shopkeeper to show Hanuman ji’s locket. As soon as the shopkeeper started showing Hanuman ji’s locket from the box, the criminal ran away with the melted gold kept in the box. At present, the CCTV footage installed inside and outside the shop is being scrutinized.
