Late Thursday night in Muzaffarpur, the embankment of the Tirhut canal could not withstand the strong flow of water and more than 50 feet of this part collapsed. As soon as the embankment broke, flood water started spreading in the village. There was panic in the village after the incident. The villagers immediately informed the Water Resources Department. After this, the team came and started repairing the embankment.

The main gate of the canal has been closed

It is being told that the Tirhut canal burst about 50 feet in ward 13 of Raksa Panchayat. Due to this, water entered the houses of many people in the four wards of Raksa Panchayat, which include ward 13, ward 14, ward 15 and ward 16. Due to this, the villagers remained awake the whole night. The main gate of the canal has been closed by the engineer and zonal officer of the water resources department. Here, the police and senior officers of Karja police station are camping. The villagers looked very angry about the senior officer not coming till late night.

People’s houses are flooded with water

Local villagers said that the embankment of the Tirhut canal broke on Thursday night. After this, the entire village and surrounding areas were flooded. Many people slept when the water came and when they woke up in the morning, the entire village was flooded. During this time, several feet of water has also come on the roads, due to which people are facing a lot of problems. Due to water coming in many wards of the Panchayat, people’s houses have been flooded, due to which people’s difficulties have increased even more. During this time, many roads were submerged. Due to this, traffic was disrupted.
