Fed up with the harassment from her in-laws, a married woman committed suicide in Fatikwara village of Mahanar police station in Vaishali. The deceased was identified as Neetu Kumari, 28-year-old daughter of Sanoj Kumar, resident of Gokulpur village of Bidupur police station area. The parents of the deceased have alleged that the in-laws had taken Rs 5 lakh from Neetu and all the jewelery of the married woman. He wanted to offer this jewelery at his daughter’s wedding. When Neetu came to know that her jewelery would be used by her in-laws in the wedding, she started demanding her jewellery. After this her in-laws started beating her. Fed up with all this, Neetu committed suicide. We were stunned by the news of his death.

Police of Mahnar police station engaged in investigation
Here, after the incident, Mehnar police has taken the body in its custody and sent it to Sadar Hospital Hajipur for post-mortem and the matter is being investigated. Mahnar Police Station Officer Vishwa Ranjan Singh said that as soon as the written application is received from the relatives of the deceased, an FIR will be registered and necessary action will be taken. After the incident, there is an uproar among the family members of the deceased. The family members are in bad condition due to crying. As soon as information about the incident was received, the local Mahnar police station took possession of the body and sent it to Sadar Hospital Hajipur for post-mortem and started investigating the matter.
Parents appealed to the police for justice
Her parents say that in 2016, Neetu was married to Rajesh Kumar Singh, son of Brij Kishore Singh, resident of Fatikwara village of Mahnar police station area. Neetu’s husband did not work and she had two children. Right after marriage, her in-laws started harassing Neetu. The in-laws had taken Rs 5 lakh from the bride’s parents for the marriage of their daughter. Took all the jewelery of the married woman and were not giving it to her. Used to beat on demand. Fed up with this, Neetu committed suicide. The parents have appealed to the police for justice.
