Bihar: Someone has demanded extortion of Rs 25 lakh from RJD MLA in Bihar through mobile. He also said on the phone that if he does not give, he will gun down the MLA along with the Secretary. However, the police has arrested the accused from Katihar.

An extortion amount of Rs 25 lakh has been demanded from Bajpatti MLA Mukesh Kumar Yadav of Sitamarhi district through mobile. At the same time, if the extortion money is not paid, the MLA, his personal secretary and their family have been threatened with death. However, the police took prompt action and arrested the accused within 24 hours from Phalka police station village Souhatha of Katihar district. The arrested youth has been identified as Raghuvansh Kumar, son of Gopal Jha. Police have also recovered a mobile phone from him.

In this regard, Nanpur police station incharge Ashok Kumar said that a WhatsApp call was received on MLA Mukesh Kumar Yadav’s mobile number 9471230325 at 7.50 pm on Tuesday night at 08709193240. The caller demanded extortion of Rs 25 lakh from him. This mobile of the MLA remains with his personal secretary Abhiram Pandey. When asked, the MLA said that he is currently out of Bihar for family work. Despite that, extortion money of Rs 25 lakh was demanded from them. If he did not give it, he also threatened to kill him and his secretary. At present, Sitamarhi police has arrested him and he is being brought to Sitamarhi. There was fear in the family of the MLA and his personal secretary after the incident.
