On the occasion of Kartik Chhath, the great festival of folk faith, at the world famous solar pilgrimage site of Aurangabad, about 15 lakh Chhath devotees from every corner of Bihar and neighboring states offered Arghya to the setting sun on Thursday evening. After offering Arghya to the setting Sun, now Chhath vrats are waiting for Friday morning to offer Arghya to the rising Sun. This four-day great festival of folk faith will be completed with the offering of Arghya to the rising Sun on Friday morning. During Kartik Chhath fast, Ganga of Surya Bhakti was seen flowing everywhere in Surya Nagari Dev. The entire atmosphere remained religious and spiritual. The entire Dev Nagri kept resonating with the Chhath songs being sung by the Chhath fastis. Since morning on Thursday, all the roads of Aurangabad were seen going to Surya Nagri Dev and the process of devotees going to Dev continued till afternoon. In the afternoon, a huge crowd of devotees and Chhath fasts was seen in the entire area of Dev. All the Chhath fasting people were seen going towards the sacred Suryakund to offer Agharya to the setting sun. During this time, the process of taking bath in the Surya Kund and paying obeisance to the Sun Temple continued. According to an estimate, about 15 lakh Chhath Vratis offered Agharya to the setting sun. After offering ardhya to the Sun, the Chhathvartis worshiped Lord Bhaskar in the Tretayugin Sun Temple and made vows.
