The Election Commission has released the voter list, according to which 7 crore 64 lakh voters of Bihar will vote in the Lok Sabha elections 2024. On the instructions of the Election Commission of India, Bihar Election Commission has published the final voter list of Bihar state on 22 January 2024. The total number of voters in 243 assembly constituencies of Bihar is 7,64,33,329, in which the number of male voters is 4 crore 29 thousand 136 and the number of female voters is 3 crore 64 lakh 1 thousand 903. The number of third gender in that list is 2,290. The average male to female ratio has increased from 907 to 909.

The entire list has changed

The Election Commission has added the names of a total of 28 lakh 95 thousand 191 voters after October 27, 2023. Also, names of 16 lakh 85 thousand 844 voters were removed from the voter list. In this way, the voter list has increased by 12 lakh 9 thousand 347 voters. In this way, the number of male voters has increased by 5 lakh 78 thousand 766 while the number of female voters has increased by 6 lakh 30 thousand 597. Under Special Brief Revision-2023, names were added and subtracted from 28 to 29 October 2023. After this, a special campaign was conducted from 25 to 26 November 2023.

Both online and offline arrangements have been made to add names to the voter list. For online, detailed information can be obtained from Voter Helpline app or voters.eci.gov.in. Offline applications will be taken in the block, sub-division or district election office. 1950 numbers have been made available for voter helpline.

Mobile demonstration vans dispatched

District Election Officer-cum-District Magistrate Dr. Chandrashekhar Singh flagged off Mobile Demonstration Vans (MDV) to increase awareness among voters through EVMs in Patna district. On this occasion, DM Dr. Chandrashekhar Singh said that as per the instructions of the Election Commission of India, Mobile Demonstration Van (MDV) has been started for every Legislative Assembly constituency. Through this, EVMs and VVPATs will be demonstrated covering each polling station location. These vans also have IEC (Information, Education and Communication) material on them. Through this, people will be made aware about EVM and VVPAT.

DM Dr. Chandrashekhar Singh said that 14 mobile demonstration vans will roam in total 14 assembly constituencies in Patna district. For this, all the electoral registration officers have determined the date-wise route chart. EVM-VVPAT will be demonstrated from all these vans and awareness will be created among the voters. DM Dr. Chandrashekhar Singh said that the total number of polling station locations in the entire Patna district is 2,937, out of which there are a total of 4,877 polling stations. There are a total of 2,197 polling stations (1,008 polling station locations) in urban areas and 2,680 polling stations (1,929 polling station locations) in rural areas. Each van will cover at least 10 polling station locations daily. All these vans will roam across the district for about 22 days covering all the polling station locations and making voters aware about EVM-VVPAT. He said that trained officials and personnel have been deputed with these mobile demonstration vans who will create awareness among the voters as per the instructions of the Election Commission of India.
