Accused of hiding facts

In this regard, the ward members say that the Chairman of Nagar Panchayat of Mainrava, Kismati Devi, while hiding the facts while contesting the elections, had told the Election Commission in her declaration on 12 December 2022 that she owns three houses, but the holding tax of only one house. By depositing, he showed that house number is 46 in Ward No. 6 Nagar Panchayat, whose tax has been deposited. What happened was that the ward councilor of this panchayat, Durgesh Kumar, complained about it to the Election Commission on 12 April 2023. When Chairman Kismati Devi got information about the complaint, she also deposited the outstanding tax. But this was proved in the investigation, in which she was found guilty. Now the Election Commission took major action on this matter and relieved the Chief Councilor from the post.

The decision came after hearing the arguments of lawyers from both sides.

Ward councilor of ward number 3 Durgesh Kumar had complained to the Election Commission against Kismati Devi, chief councilor of Mairwa Nagar Panchayat of Siwan district. It was said in the complaint that Chief Councilor Kismati Devi and her husband own three houses in Mairwa. He deposited a withholding tax and enrolled on the very next day, whereas it is required under Section 18 of the Bihar Municipality Act 2007 to pay all the outstanding withholding tax till the first financial year of enrolment. During the investigation, lawyers from both sides presented their respective arguments. Durgesh Kumar’s lawyer Sanjay Kumar presented his side before the commission. Advocate Avneesh Kumar of the other side and Mangalam of SBC presented their side, after which Panchayat Raj Officer Shailesh Choudhary was authorized to present the side of the district administration to provide verification. Finding him guilty in this, the State Election Commission relieved the Chairman from his post. Complainant Durgesh says that she never called meetings, there are many other scams that have taken place, which I will expose soon.
