Nagendra Rai, nephew of Rashtriya Janata Dal supremo Lalu Prasad Yadav, has been accused of demanding extortion. The aggrieved party has also registered a case regarding this matter in Pirbahor police station of Patna. Akash Gaurav, close to a former minister of Bihar government, submitted a written application pleading for justice from the police. Police say that scientific research is being done in the matter. Further action is going on in the matter.

Akash lives in Bihari Sav Lane of Patna. In his written application, Akash has said that on the night of December 12, Nagendra Rai, resident of Gola Road of Rupaspur police station, called from 93045 02790. After that he started abusing and threateningly said that you should leave Patna with your family and go away from Bihar and pay three crore rupees as extortion money. If you don’t give Rs 3 crore, I will kill you and your entire family. Akash alleged that during this call, Nagendra had called him to meet within half an hour. But, I was in Siliguri at that time and hence expressed my inability to come.
Sent the miscreants home also
Akash said that on December 13, I called again from the same number 5-6 times but I did not pick up the call out of fear. After this, on 13th December, Nagendra Rai sent 5-7 unknown armed men to my house to forcibly pick me up. Through the phone he ordered his miscreants to come to Rajendra Nagar within 15 minutes. He also kept abusing my father. Akash told that the entire family is scared after this incident. Akash has given many evidences to the police including the recording of the call. Here, after the case was registered, the police of Pirbahor police station has started investigating the matter.
