A farmer died in a horrific road accident in Muzaffarpur’s Kanti police station area. The farmer was returning home on his bike on Sunday night, when he was crushed by a speeding truck. The accident was so severe that the farmer died on the spot. There was a stir in the area after the incident. People from nearby areas gathered. The angry people blocked the road and started creating a ruckus. Here, the police reached the spot as soon as the information was received.
As soon as they saw the police, people started protesting violently. Angry people blocked NH 57 and created a ruckus. People started protesting to curb the continuous incidents and started protesting by keeping the dead body on the road. During this, there was a scuffle with the police. The NH remained blocked for about an hour and after that the police pacified the matter by persuading the people.

Family members say that after shopping from the city in the evening, farmer Kali Shankar Singh (50) was returning on his bike. As soon as he reached near Darbhanga four-lane NH 57, he was crushed by a truck coming from Darbhanga at a high speed. The family members are in bad condition after the incident and are crying. The body has been taken into custody and sent to the medical college for post-mortem and further action is being taken in the whole case.
The family is demanding to build an overbridge
Local people said that people have been demanding an underpass or overbridge here for a long time. The speed breaker that was already built has also become damaged and is completely worn out. NHAI neither gets it repaired nor looks after it. On the other hand, SHO of Kanti police station Sudhakar Pandey said that a farmer has died after being hit by a truck. He was going from the city to his home in Chhapra Dharampur of Kanti police station area. During this time, a truck hit his bike in the lane coming from Darbhanga, in which he died. Further action is going on in the matter.
