The police have excavated the body of a 10-year-old child who was missing for three days in Bettiah. The deceased has been identified as Bablu Kumar (10), son of Suresh Patel, a resident of Behari village under Sikta police station area. The deceased was a student of class 5. The incident took place in Behari ward number 10 under Sikta police station area. The family is accusing the deceased child’s friends of murdering him and burying the body in the ground. After the incident, the police have started investigating the case. Currently, the police have taken the body into custody and sent it to GMCH Bettiah for post-mortem.
Life lost because of gambling money
The deceased’s uncle Bharat Patel has accused the deceased’s friends of murder. He says that Bablu was missing since Tuesday evening. When he did not reach home at night, his search began, but he could not be found. Here, on Friday afternoon, the villagers saw a flock of crows near the pond to the east of the village, when they reached there, they saw a foot in the mud. After this, the villagers informed the police. Here, on the information of the villagers, the police reached on Friday and dug the ground near the pond to the east of the village and recovered the body. He told that the deceased’s father has gone to Punjab to work as a labourer. He takes care of his children by working as a labourer outside. He told that Bablu had won 800 rupees by gambling with his friends. His friends were demanding this money. When he did not give it, he was strangled to death and the body was buried in a pit dug near the pond.
Police engaged in investigation
Regarding the incident, Inspector Sarfaraz Ahmed said that the police is interrogating two friends of the deceased after taking them into custody. Station incharge Raj Roshan said that further action will be taken by registering an FIR on the application of the family members of the deceased.
