Those three names included Chaitanya Prasad, Amritlal Meena and Pratyaya Amrit, but finally the Bihar government has put its seal on Amritlal Meena. In this way, Chetan Prasad of 1990 batch lagged behind in the race for Chief Secretary and IAS officer Amritlal Meena of 1989 batch became the Chief Secretary.
After Brajesh Mehrotra, now Amritlal Meena has become the Chief Secretary of Bihar
Bihar Chief Secretary Brajesh Mehrotra is retiring on Saturday, August 31. In such a situation, it was a difficult task to give the government’s approval on the name of the Chief Secretary along with the post of DGP of Bihar. According to the list, Chetan Prasad is a 1990 batch IAS officer, Pratyay Amrit is a 1991 batch IAS officer, while Amritlal Meena is a 1989 batch officer. In this way, Amritlal Meena, an officer of the 1989 batch, has come out on top in the race for Chief Secretary as per seniority. Currently, he is the Secretary of the Ministry of Coal on central deputation. Amritlal Meena went on central deputation in September 2021, now he is returning to Bihar as Chief Secretary. But with this, he will also retire on 31 August.
Who is Amritlal Meena
Amritlal Meena was the Additional Chief Secretary of Bihar Road Construction Department before going on central deputation. Earlier, he was also in the Urban Development and Housing Department and Panchayati Raj Department. He has also been the Secretary of Rural Development Minister Raghuvanshi Prasad Singh at the Center.
