Expansion
In many parts of the country, news and pictures of immersion of idols after the puja have been coming to the fore. But, this does not happen and cannot happen in Bihar. People showed this in Muzaffarpur. There was a clash with the administration and police, but people were not ready to take the idols of Goddess Durga towards the dirty artificial pond. The statues were returned while leaving. There was a ban on going into the river, so we came back half a kilometer and immersed ourselves in the puddle. Due to this, there was a lot of trouble in Muzaffarpur on Sunday night.
For the first time, people protested against the artificial pond built for the immersion of idols during Durga Puja near Dadar bridge adjacent to Budhi Gandak river. When the police-administration team went to explain, they also had to face opposition from the local people. Not only this, more than half of the puja committees immersed the idol in the Budhi Gandak river or the nearby pond instead of the artificial pond. Describing the administrative decision regarding this as wrong, the angry people associated with the puja committees created a ruckus on Saturday by blocking the Saraiyaganj Tower and this created a law and order problem for a few hours. However, the police and district administration officials somehow pacified the people.
Refusal to immerse in artificial pond
People say that every year an artificial pond was built at the Ashram Ghat adjacent to the Budhi Gandak river. It contained river water. Now for the first time, some people involved in the peace committee have deliberately given wrong suggestions and got it constructed outside the city. Due to this, an artificial pond has been made amidst the dirt in Dadar. Aghoria Bazaar, Purani Gudri Road Puja Committee, Sadpura Puja Committee and Aamgola Road Puja Committee have refused to immerse themselves in the artificial pond.
Will not immerse in dirty water
Aghoria Bazaar Committee member Santosh Kumar said that every year immersion is done in the pond built near Ashram Ghat of Sikandpur. This time the district administration has deliberately constructed an artificial pond in Dadar. Which is a dumping area and there is dirty water here. We cannot immerse in dirty water. This is playing with our faith and tradition. We follow the orders of NGT and Supreme Court. But do not immerse in dirty water under any circumstances. That’s why we are all returning our idols.
