More hair is shaved in Tirupati Balaji temple

This action of DRI has come to light in Madhubani near Bihar-Nepal border. Among the arrested smugglers, two are from Murshidabad district of West Bengal, while one is from Madhubani district of Bihar. The Intelligence team has taken this action on the basis of secret information. A truck with West Bengal number was passing through Madhubani, where there was information about a consignment of hair being taken. During interrogation, the smugglers told that the recovered substance had been stolen and collected from many pilgrimage sites in South India. Most of the hair was collected from the tonsure held in Tirupati Balaji temple. The value of the hair is estimated to be around Rs 80 lakh. Since the child was about to go to China via Nepal, information is being collected to reach other members of the gang involved.

Hair supply is banned, Bihar has become a route for smuggling

An official of the Directorate of Revenue Intelligence said that supplying hair is banned in India. Some gangs smuggle it to China via Nepal. It is said that wigs and other materials are made from it. These things are in high demand in China and are supplied to countries all over the world. In the past, due to ED action in this case and border sealing, the gang members have started using the route of Bihar instead of West Bengal.
