Inspector Dinesh Ram, posted at Majorganj police station in Sitamarhi, has been sentenced to life imprisonment. Two accused in the murder case have been sentenced. Not only this, both the accused will also have to pay a compensation of Rs 5 lakh each along with a fine. Additional Sessions Judge of the Civil Court, Rahul Upadhyay, sentenced life imprisonment to Mukul Singh, resident of Kuari Madan village of Majorganj police station and Abhishek Kumar of Basbitti village of Sahiara police station. The court has also imposed a fine of Rs 1 lakh each on both of them. The court also ordered both of them to pay compensation of Rs 5 lakh each to the wife of the deceased inspector. Special Additional Public Prosecutor Upendra Baitha argued on behalf of the prosecution. Shivam Singh was acquitted on January 23 due to lack of evidence.
The murder took place on 24 February
Let us tell you that on 24 February 2021, Inspector Dinesh Ram had received information on phone in Majorganj that Sudha Devi, the wanted accused in police station case no. 28/2021, was at home and some criminals were gathered with her. While giving this information to the then police station officer Rajdev Prasad, Inspector Dinesh Ram along with Chowkidar and police forces reached Sudha Devi’s house in Kuari Madan village. Four people were sitting in Sudha Devi’s house. As soon as the inspector and watchman entered the house, the miscreants sitting in Sudha Devi’s house opened fire on the police. In this, SI Dinesh Ram and a watchman were shot.
Sudha Devi still absconding
After this, Majorganj Police Station Officer Rajdev Prasad sent the injured Lalbabu Paswan and Inspector Dinesh Ram to Sitamarhi Sadar Hospital for treatment. But, the inspector was declared dead in the hospital by the doctor’s team. Here, the dead body of criminal Ranjan Singh was found by the police who was chasing him while he was running away after shooting the sub-inspector and the watchman. After this, the house of Sudha Devi, wanted in the Inspector murder case, was confiscated in Kunari Madan village of Majorganj police station area. This action has been taken under the leadership of SP. SP Manoj Tiwari said that one of the accused in this case, Sudha Devi, is absconding. The other accused in this case are in jail.
