On Sunday night, four criminals riding on two bikes looted a gold businessman on the Baruari-Parasarma main road in Barail village of Sadar block in Supaul. During this time the criminals shot and injured the gold businessman. The injured businessman is undergoing treatment at Mithila Hospital in the city. Where his condition remains critical. Sadar SDPO Alok Kumar reached the hospital and took information about the incident and assured the family members of appropriate action. It is being told that the injured gold businessman, 35-year-old Vikas Thakur, resident of Malhani Ward 04 of Sadar Block, had left for home on a bike as usual. During this time the criminals committed the crime. His in-laws’ house is also at a short distance from the incident site. His wife’s brother Neeraj Kumar Thakur, resident of Barail Ward 01, told that both of them together run a jewelery shop near Tejendra Higher Secondary School, Baruari West. Vikas left the shop for home at around 07:30 pm.

When the bag was not allowed to be snatched, the criminals opened fire.
According to Neeraj, after leaving the shop, four criminals riding on two bikes chased Vikas from the turn of the road leading to Kharhi Ghat. During this time the criminals tried to snatch the bag from him. But when they did not succeed, they shot and injured Vikas near Bareil Mor, about 800 meters away from the shop, and snatched the bag and ran away. Vikas was shot in his right thigh. Neeraj said that the bag looted by the criminals contained Rs 17,500 in cash along with 500 grams of silver and 25 to 30 grams of gold jewellery. After committing the incident the criminals fled towards Parasarma.
The injured himself called and informed about the shooting.
According to Neeraj, some time after the incident, his brother-in-law Vikas called and informed about the shooting by criminals. After which he immediately closed the shop and reached the spot. Meanwhile, a crowd of local people had gathered at the spot. With the help of local people, Vikas was admitted to Mithila Hospital in the city, where his treatment is going on.
SDPO took information, police started investigation
Here, on receiving information about the incident, Sadar SDPO Alok Kumar also reached Mithila Hospital. Where he took information from the family members of the injured. On the other hand, the police has started investigation regarding the incident. Sadar SDPO said that at present no application has been received from the victim’s side. Police is investigating at all points. Nearby CCTV footage is also being scrutinized. The arrest of the criminals will be ensured soon.
