After the flood water entered Saran, some children were bathing in that water. Then the wall of the temple collapsed, in which two children died on the spot. One child is seriously injured, who is undergoing treatment in Sadar Hospital. Local people say that there is a possibility of some children being buried in the wall. But due to flood water all around, there is a lot of delay in relief work. After receiving the information, there was a stir in the district administration. The incident took place near Kathia Baba Temple located on Sonar Patti Road under Nagar Police Station area of the city, where children from the surrounding area were bathing there due to 2 to 3 feet of water accumulated near the temple. Then the old wall of the temple collapsed with a bang, in which the children got buried. However, local people have taken out three children from the debris of the temple.
According to local villagers, children were bathing in the flood water near the temple, meanwhile the old thick wall of the temple collapsed and the children got buried under it. Two children died due to the wall collapse. While one child was seriously injured.
Among the deceased children, Dhanraj Kumar, the 8-year-old son of late Ajay Mahato, a resident of Nevaji Tola Dharamshala Adda No. 2 under the Riwilganj police station area, and Rambha Kumari, the 13-year-old daughter of Tarakeshwar Raut, a resident of Khankhi Mathiya Mirzapur village under Baniyapur police station area, who had come to her aunt’s house, died on the spot. While Ragini Kumari, the 9-year-old daughter of Shiv Shankar Mahato, is said to be seriously injured and is being treated under the supervision of doctors at Sadar Hospital, Chhapra.
In this regard, eyewitnesses told that the water level of the Saryu river has increased a lot, due to which the water has completely entered the locality. Local children were playing due to the water. Meanwhile, the old wall collapsed and it fell. After which there was an atmosphere of chaos there. In a hurry, the local people brought the children to Sadar Hospital for treatment, where the doctor on duty confirmed the death of two children. At the same time, the treatment of one child is going on. Along with this, the family members of the children told that there is also information about some children being buried. However, no statement has been issued by the administration yet. However, the information is being taken by the police of the city police station who reached the spot. At present, the process of conducting the post-mortem of the bodies of both the dead children is going on. After receiving the information, District Transport Officer Rajiv Ranjan and SDPO Sadar Raj Kishore Singh also reached the spot and are inspecting the situation.
