On Wednesday, the day of Jivhitputrika (Jiutiya) fast, which is observed to pray for the longevity of children, 8 people died in two separate major accidents. All the deaths occurred due to drowning in rivers and ponds. The incidents took place in Kushha of Madanpur block of Aurangabad and Ithat of Barun. Among the dead are five teenagers of the same family, including two real sisters and three real sisters.

Regarding the incident, people say that in Kushha village of Madanpur police station area, children had gone to bathe in the pond with their mothers. During this, they started drowning after going into deep water. Somehow they were taken out and admitted to the community health center of Madanpur in critical condition for treatment, where after first aid, the doctors seeing their condition critical, referred them to Aurangabad Sadar Hospital for better treatment. After this, the doctors in Sadar Hospital declared all four dead as soon as they saw them. After the accident, the police of Madanpur police station is busy getting the post-mortem of the deceased done. This incident happened on Wednesday at 5 pm.
