A big accident happened on the fourth Monday of Sawan in Jehanabad, Bihar. Seven devotees including five women died in a stampede at Baba Siddheshwarnath Dham situated on Vanavar hill. At the same time, more than 10 people have been injured. The revelations made by the eyewitnesses after the accident were shocking. They claim that if the police-administration had been alert, such a big accident would not have happened. The relatives of the deceased even alleged that if the police had not used lathis, the stampede would not have happened. People started running here and there due to the fear of the police lathi. Here, eyewitness Manoj Kumar told that there was a scuffle between the flower sellers on the stairs. There was no police there. If there were policemen, there would not have been a scuffle between the flower sellers. All this happened in front of me. So many of us were stuck there, someone pulled me out from there. If I had been stuck there for one or two more minutes, I would have died due to the stampede. At the same time, a woman in the hospital told that this happened due to the jostling. The crowd had gone completely out of control.
