In Darbhanga, a woman is protesting with her nine-month-old daughter at the doorstep of her in-laws’ house. She is pleading with the residents of the locality and the police of the University police station to allow her in-laws to come inside their house.

On this matter, the police say that a youth living in the University police station area had a love marriage with Varsha Kumari two years ago in 2022. After marriage, both gave birth to a girl child. In these one and a half years, her in-laws opposed her, but she stayed in that house, enduring beatings and many other kinds of torture. Meanwhile, she also gave birth to a girl child. But four months ago, Varsha was thrown out of the house by her in-laws along with the girl child. Due to this, Varsha was living in her maternal home with her daughter for the last four months.
Then came the twist in the matter
The twist in the case came a month ago when Amit got married for the second time in Madhepura district. On getting the information about the second marriage, Varsha reached her in-laws’ house with her daughter, where her in-laws refused to let her enter the house. After this, she sat on a dharna at the doorstep of her daughter’s house. Even after the efforts of the local people for a long time, Amit and his family members were not ready to keep her. Then Varsha filed an application in the University Police Station and appealed to the police for justice.
Police took action
In this regard, University Police Station Head Sudhir Kumar said that information about the case has been received. Action is being taken on the application given by the victim. When the matter escalated, the police of the station reached the spot in a hurry and forcibly made her enter the house and left, but after the police left, the in-laws started beating Varsha.
