One hundred and fifty houses were burnt to ashes in the fire in Bettiah, while five people were burnt alive due to it. In this incident, two people died due to burning. Many cattle also died due to burning. The incident took place in Harijan Basti located in Jagiraha Panchayat under Thakraha police station area of Bagaha police district of West Champaran. The deceased have been identified as Rajendra Ram and Deepak. Other people are being treated at PHC Thakraha.
Dozens of cattle died due to burning
As soon as the fire broke out, there was an atmosphere of chaos in the village. As soon as the information about the fire was received, the police administration team and fire brigade vehicles started reaching the spot. The villagers also started extinguishing the fire from their own level. Bagaha SDM Dr. Anupama Singh has confirmed the burning of about 150 houses and the death of two people. Besides, dozens of cattle also died in the fire.
Many children are also missing
Local people say that many children of the village are also missing, who are being searched. There was some trouble among the people due to the breakdown of some fire fighting vehicles which came to extinguish the fire. However, somehow the fire was brought under control. After assessing the compensation from the debris, the list will be prepared by the administration. People say that in the previous fire in Bagaha, about 530 houses have been burnt to ashes. Officials who reached the spot say that a list of all the houses that have been burnt and all the families that have been affected by this fire is being made. Officials also say that the children who are reported missing are also being searched. At present, arrangements for relief material are being made.
