A MNREGA worker and his real brother riding a bike died after being hit by a truck near Tati river on the Barbigha-Shekhpura main road. After the incident, the truck driver fled from the spot with the truck. As soon as information about the incident was received, the police reached the spot. The police of Hathiyama police station have sent the body to Sadar Hospital for post-mortem. After the incident, other colleagues of the deceased MNREGA worker also reached Sadar Hospital. The deceased has been identified as Rajkumar Gupta, son of Sitaram Gupta, resident of Patel Nagar Mohalla under Barbigha Municipal Council area of Shekhpura district, while the other deceased has been identified as Sunil Kumar Gupta, his younger brother.
Sheikhpura was coming with his brother on bike
Regarding the incident, family members say that Rajkumar Gupta was a resident of Bakiya village under Halsi police station area of Lakhisarai district. He was currently working in the MNREGA department in Katari Panchayat. While on duty in Sheikhpura, he bought land and built his house in Barbigha, while his younger brother Sunil Kumar Gupta still lives in the village. Today both the brothers were going from Barbigha to Sheikhpura on a bike. Then a truck crushed them near Tati river bridge, due to which both the brothers died on the spot.
Police engaged in investigation
Local people informed the police about the incident. As soon as information about the incident was received, the police of Hathiyama police station reached the spot and sent the body to Sadar Hospital for post-mortem. The truck driver fled from the spot. Hathiyama police station chief said that the matter will be investigated. Sunil Kumar Gupta died on the spot, while Rajkumar Gupta died after being taken to Sadar Hospital.
