Bihar Institute of Public Administration and Rural Development (BIPARD) Gaya successfully organized one day Mission Karmayogi Workshop on 7 January 2025. The workshop was organized under the aegis of Capacity Building Commission (CBC) and was attended by a total of 57 delegates including senior officials from the Central Government, Central Training Institutes, State Training Institutes and 17 States.

The workshop was inaugurated and presided over by Adil Jainulbhai, Chairman, Capacity Building Commission. Chief guests included Dr. R Balasubramaniam, Member, CBC and Dr. Alka Mittal, Member, CBC. Additional Chief Secretary of Tamil Nadu Vikram Kapoor, Additional Chief Secretary of Bihar Government and Director General of BIPARD KK Pathak and Additional Chief Secretary of Bihar Government B Rajendra and many senior officials were also present in this workshop.

Various topics were discussed in the workshop, including Mission Karmayogi, capacity building and policy planning for states and administrative training institutes, working with urban local bodies and Panchayats, Karmayogi competency model, curriculum development for IGOT and digital learning. and planning of large-scale civilian-oriented training programmes. Additionally, several administrative training institutes shared their experiences, feedback and challenges faced in implementing the training programs effectively.

Mission Karmayogi, a visionary initiative conceived by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, aims to transform the approach of civil servants to deliver public services from rule-based to role-based. It emphasizes on building the skills required to ensure efficient, citizen-centric governance and promoting a culture of sustainable learning. This workshop proved to be an invaluable platform for mutual learning, sharing of experiences, and planning better training and development strategies.

It also highlighted the progress of Bihar, which recently ranked first in the country in IGOT Mission Karmayogi Registration. This achievement reflects the State’s commitment to strengthening governance through capacity building and innovative training initiatives. BIPARD’s role in organizing this workshop underlines its commitment to promote cooperation and knowledge exchange between states and training institutions.
