Bihar has to face the tragedy of floods every year. Every year lakhs of people are displaced. Modi 3.0 government has made special provision in the Union Budget for this. Biharis have been given the gift of projects worth Rs 11500 for flood relief. This money will be spent on other projects including Kosi Intra State Link. The government will also conduct a flood survey from Kosi river. The Finance Minister clearly said that people in Bihar have to face the horror of floods every year. The central government is serious about this. Every possible help will be provided to prevent floods. Dams will have to be built for this in Nepal. The central government will provide financial assistance for this. Apart from this, all-weather roads will be built in 25 thousand rural areas under the Pradhan Mantri Gram Sadak Yojana.

CM Nitish Kumar said that a big announcement has been made in the budget to protect Bihar from floods. Special financial assistance has been announced for Koshi-Mechi river linking project, river pollution reduction and irrigation projects, which is welcome. I specially thank Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman ji for the special provision in the budget for Bihar.

A new and big beginning towards a long-term solution

Rajya Sabha MP Sanjay Jha said that this is a big day for Bihar. It is very pleasing to see that the Finance Minister has announced that through the Accelerated Irrigation Benefit Programme and other sources, the Central Government will provide financial assistance for the Kosi-Mechi inter-state link project and 20 other existing and new projects, including barrages, river pollution control and irrigation projects, estimated to cost Rs 11,500 crore. Apart from this, surveys will also be conducted to reduce the impact of floods of Kosi river and for new irrigation projects. This is a new and big beginning towards a long-term solution to the decades-old problem of damage caused by floods every year in North Bihar. Certainly this is a welcome step.
