The case is of Basukurha under Mohanpur police station of Gaya district, where a seven-year-old girl, who was at loggerheads between her girlfriend and boyfriend, was murdered by the boyfriend and buried on the river bank. The deceased has been identified as Riya Kumari (7), daughter of Ramjit Manjhi. Villagers say that Riya Kumari was missing since December 31. When the girl was nowhere to be found, her father lodged a case at Mohanpur police station regarding the girl’s disappearance. As soon as the case was registered, the police started searching for the girl. During search and investigation, police arrested Sudesh Paswan of the same village last night on the basis of suspicion.
The secret was revealed under police pressure
After being arrested, during police interrogation, accused Sudesh revealed the entire matter and said that missing 7-year-old Riya was murdered by him by strangulation. After this the body was buried in the river. Police station incharge Avinash Kumar told that there was a love affair going on for a long time between deceased Riya’s mother Anup Devi and accused Sudesh Paswan. During this time the girl had seen both of them in an objectionable situation. Therefore, at the behest of his mother, this incident was carried out as part of a planning. On the instigation of the arrested criminal, the police took the body into their custody and sent it to ANMMCH for post-mortem. The deceased’s mother Anup Devi and Sudesh Paswan have been arrested by the police.
