In Bihar’s Vaishali, a miscreant attacked an elderly man with a sharp weapon on his neck while he was asleep over a land dispute. This incident took place late on Friday night in Manua village of Sadar police station area. At the time of the incident, when the old man’s wife started shouting, the assailant started assaulting her as well. When there was commotion, other relatives reached the spot. That’s why the miscreant escaped leaving the weapon of attack, sickle, at the scene.
After this, the family members admitted the injured elderly to Sadar Hospital Hajipur for treatment. From where the injured was referred to Patna PMCH after first aid. The injured elder has been identified as Laddu Rai (50), son of Ramkaran Rai, resident of Manwa village of Sadar police station area.
According to the information, Laddu Rai was sleeping at his home. Then the attacker attacked with a sharp edged weapon. Hearing the screams, when the wife came to save him, the assailant assaulted her as well. When the other family was seen in front, the attacker fled from the spot. Actually, the victim’s family had planted banana crop on two acres of land two-three days ago. But the attacker had cut and destroyed the entire crop. Tension had increased on both sides regarding this matter.
Devendra Rai, the nephew of the injured Laddu Rai, said that the land dispute is going on for the last four-five months regarding the two parts. Panchayat was also convened several times in this matter. But ignoring the matter of the Panchayat, two sons of his own Patidar Ramsagar Rai, Dinesh Rai and Suresh Rai, are continuously fighting to maintain their supremacy. On the other hand, as soon as the information about the incident was received, the police officer of Sadar police station started the investigation.
