In Banka, a sensor of PHED department was burnt along with his car. The matter is of Gadua forest located on Katoria-Suiya main road of Suiya police station area. The deceased has been identified as Ashish Kumar Modi (30), son of Ashok Modi, resident of Aliganj Mohalla of Banka district. Ashish Kumar Modi was the sensor of PHED department.
Because of this the accused came into police custody
Regarding the incident, the family members say that on May 4, on the basis of the statement of deceased’s uncle Gautam Kumar, a case of missing person of his nephew Ashish Kumar Modi was registered in Banka police station. But in that application he had also written that there was some dispute between the tenant in the house of deceased Ashish Kumar Modi, Sunny Kumar Jha alias Golu, whose certificate name is Deep Kamal Jha, and Ashish Kumar Modi. After receiving the application, the police found the location of Golu Jha’s mobile. On May 6, Golu Jha’s location was found in the train coming from Deoghar to Banka, which the police caught at Banka station.

On the mark of Golu Jha, a burnt car and the skeleton of Ashish Kumar Modi were recovered from the Gadua forest of Suiya police station area on Dehi. The incident took place on Sunday at 2 pm. Banka Headquarters SDPO Vipin Bihari told that the deceased was a sensor of PHED department. Golu Jha lived on rent in his house. He had murdered Ashish Kumar Modi on the night of May 4 and took him to Jethournath, Samukhiya Mod etc. places to hide the body. Due to lack of opportunity, on May 5 at 2 o’clock in the Gadua forest of Suiya police station area, the dead body was kept in the trunk of the car, sprinkled with petrol and the car was burnt.

Local people say that according to accused Golu Jha, his entire family lived on rent in the house of sensor Ashish Kumar Modi. Ashish was the only son of his parents. His marriage took place on 31 January 2023 in Kahalgaon. On the condition of anonymity, some local people told that something was going on between the sister of deceased Ashish Kumar Modi and Sunny Kumar Jha alias Golu Jha, due to which Golu Jha carried out the incident. It is said that Golu Jha’s brother-in-law was also present in this incident, although the police is currently refraining from saying anything.
Police engaged in investigation
Ashish Kumar Modi’s father is ill and is undergoing treatment from Kolkata. His wife Seema Kumari has gone to the doctor in Kahalgaon for her medical checkup. There is mourning in the entire family regarding this incident. At present the police is investigating the matter.
