Prisoner Sonu Kumar, who had absconded from Benipur Upkara in Darbhanga six months ago, has died while trying to escape from the train after his arrest. It is said that the accused prisoner died after falling from a moving train while trying to escape from it while he was being brought to Darbhanga by the Bihar Police. When Bihar Police came to know about Sonu’s arrest, he along with Sub Inspector Ranjit Singh was returning to Darbhanga by Swatantrata Senani Express after taking him on transit remand from Delhi.
It is being told that Sonu fell from the train near Saraibhupat station at around 2.30 pm on Thursday. The police stopped the train and informed the GRP. On the pretext of going to the toilet, Sonu freed his hand and jumped from the moving train. After jumping, Inspector Ranjit Singh and constable Satish Kumar, who were accompanying the train, stopped the train by pulling its chain and informed Etawah GRP.
The police had arrested him in Delhi
It is being told that Sonu Kumar, 18 year old son of Lal Das, resident of Pator of Ashok Paper Mill police station area of Darbhanga, had absconded from Benipur Upkara on July 10 last year. A case was registered in this matter at Bahera police station. Recently the police arrested him in Delhi. Let us tell you that Sonu was arrested by Darbhanga police in the case of dowry death. There is chaos in the house as soon as the news of Sonu’s death is received. Sonu was married to Soni Kumari in Pator village of Pator police station area of Darbhanga district. But, just a few days after the marriage, Sonu murdered her.
Was arrested in dowry death case
Darbhanga police had arrested him in this case. He was the only son of his parents. Now his father has also passed away. His old mother lives at her sister-in-law’s house. Sonu’s mother is very saddened by the news of her son’s demise. Baheda police station BK Brajesh said that a team has been sent to bring Sonu. But, what happened on the way? This information has not been received yet.
