Now the Railways is going to remove the college built by the former Railway Minister next to the DRM office in Sonpur. In 1978, former Railway Minister Late. Purvottam Railway College was established by Madhu Dandavate. Not only this, former Railway Minister Lalu Prasad Yadav had tried hard twice to get government status for this college. This college was also verified twice during his tenure as Railway Minister. But, now the Railways has given him a notice to remove him from the college. This college was established in the Railway Colony constructed for the children of railway employees. In this, more than 50 percent children of railway employees were studying.

After the online admission process in the college, the percentage of studies of the children of railway employees reduced but the Railway College in the North East located in Sonpur is the only college among 23 Panchayats. Presently 35 hundred students study in this college. There are 88 employees working in this college. This college has the highest enrollment of girls and children from many nearby panchayats come to study in this school. Children from Gopalganj, Siwan, Chhapra also have admission in this college.

MLA said- Will not let the future of students be played with

People say that at that time the Railway Minister of Bihar was Ram Vilas Paswan. At that time also this college was verified. But, did not get government status. Now, to save the college, teachers and students staged a protest in the college campus. Sonpur MLA Ramanuj Prasad also participated in this protest. While talking to the media, the MLA said that there is a degree college for our sons and daughters. Where our children study. We will not let the college move away from here. Therefore, whatever movement we have to do, we will do it. We will also meet the Railway Minister and talk about the college. Will not allow the college to be removed from here. We will not let the future of the students studying in this college be played with.
