The incidents of terror caused by stray dogs in Muzaffarpur district are not stopping. The latest case is from Vishanpur Jarang Athar village of Bochha police station area. Where a pack of stray dogs attacked a six-year-old innocent child and seriously injured him.
According to the information, Umesh Sah’s son Bablu became a victim of stray dogs while playing in the evening. A pack of dogs surrounded the innocent child from all sides and attacked him. The dogs tore off Bablu’s left ear, pulled out the hair on his head and caused serious head injuries. Apart from this, he was cut at many places on his body and left bleeding. Hearing the screams of the child, nearby villagers and family members reached the spot and saved his life. Immediately he was taken to a private hospital in the city. Where the doctors operated on his head and worked on joining the broken bones. Bablu is currently admitted in ICU.
An atmosphere of panic spread in the village
This incident has created an atmosphere of panic in the entire village. Villagers are now stopping their children from playing outside. It is noteworthy that this is not an isolated case. The incidents of stray dog attacks are continuously increasing in the district. Earlier too, children going to school in Maidapur village were attacked by dogs. Two and a half years ago, a four-year-old girl was killed by dogs in Mithanpura area. More than 2500 dog bite cases are being reported every month in urban and rural areas.

The Municipal Corporation was said to take several steps to solve the problem of stray dogs. But all efforts are limited to papers. As-
- Dog Catcher Van: Ordered, but it was not used.
- Sterilization and Anti-Rabies Injection: Plans were made, but no concrete action was taken.
- Meetings and Proposals: Several meetings were held, but the proposals remained buried in the files.
