In Bihar’s Gaya district, the health of about a dozen tourists who had come to visit Gaya by Bharat Gaurav train deteriorated, in which two women tourists died. The condition of eight to ten tourists has improved after treatment. All these tourists are from Tamil Nadu. The names of two women have come out among the dead and one is still undergoing treatment at Anugrah Narayan Magadh Medical College and Hospital. Her name has been reported as SS Shankar Ghantti, while one of the deceased women is Jayalakshmi Gunpalan, while the other was Pandari Bai. The death has been confirmed by Dr. Sandeep Kumar, Chief Medical Superintendent of Gaya Railway Sub-Divisional Hospital.

IRCTC local station officer is not responding

In this regard, continuous efforts are being made to talk to IRCTC station officer Gautam Kishore of Gaya Junction on his official mobile to get information but he is not considering it appropriate to pick up the phone. Whereas Bharat Gaurav train is being run under IRCTC. This train had brought many tourists to Gaya Junction, after whose arrival the tourists were taken on a tour of Bodh Gaya. After returning from there, the health of about ten-twelve tourists suddenly started deteriorating, which was informed to RPF and Railway Hospital through station superintendent Umesh Kumar.

The chief medical superintendent says

Dr Sandeep Kumar, Chief Medical Superintendent of Gaya Railway Subdivision Hospital, told that as soon as information was received about the deterioration in the health of the passengers of Bharat Gaurav train that arrived at Gaya Junction, a team of medical personnel was sent to Gaya Junction under the leadership of Medical Officer of the hospital Dr Ravi Shankar Pandey. All were brought to the hospital by ambulance. He told that all the tourists had become victims of heat stroke, out of which the health of two started deteriorating further. After first aid, they were referred to Anugrah Narayan Magadh Medical College and Hospital, Gaya, where a woman Vidyalakshmi died. He told that the rest of the tourists were discharged from the hospital after treatment. He told that better medical treatment was provided through the resources available in the hospital.

RPF also provided assistance

In this regard, Ajay Tigga, sub-inspector of RPF Gaya post, says that he was informed by the station superintendent to attend the Bharat Gaurav train. According to Ajay Tigga, the health of many tourists started deteriorating. A team of the health department from the railway hospital came to Gaya junction. After this, everyone was taken to the hospital one by one. Here, when the control room of IRCTC’s East Zone was contacted on phone number 9830174006 for information, no official information was received from there either. However, an official of the South East Zone said that the train in which all this happened with the passengers is not their train. He said that their Bharat Gaurav train left from Puri on Monday and is about to come to Gaya.

Will be sent in a coffin to Tamil Nadu

In this regard, Anugrah Narayan Magadh Medical College Hospital’s Deputy Superintendent Dr. N.K. Paswan said that two female tourists from Tamil Nadu died during treatment. Both the bodies will be packed in coffins and sent to Tamil Nadu on Tuesday morning, for which all preparations have been made. However, one male tourist is still undergoing treatment. At present, he is out of danger.

Holiday order again in government schools, all schools will remain closed till 15 June

The Indian Meteorological Department has issued an alert in view of the increasing heat. According to the Meteorological Department, heat wave conditions will persist in many places of the state from June 10 to June 14. In light of this information, the Education Department has declared a holiday in all schools from June 11 to June 15, 2024. During this time, teachers of all schools will also be on leave.
