More than 200 jawans who came for training in the 12th and 15th battalions of Bihar Special Armed Police located in Bhimnagar of Supaul district have fallen prey to food poisoning. After which all the trainee jawans have been admitted to the subdivisional hospital of Veerpur for treatment. Till 10:00 pm on Sunday night, the number of sick trainees is continuously increasing. Till the time of sending the news, the process of arrival of jawans to the subdivisional hospital Veerpur is continuing. Due to the sudden arrival of such a large number of patients in the subdivisional hospital, there is an atmosphere of panic among the doctors and health workers.
Vomiting and diarrhea after meals
It is being told that after Sunday’s lunch, everyone’s health started deteriorating. After lunch, all the soldiers went to rest. But after some time, the soldiers vomited and had diarrhea. After this, from late evening, the soldiers started being taken to Veerpur Subdivision Hospital in vehicles of BMP Training Center. By 10:00 pm, more than 200 soldiers have been taken to the subdivision hospital. Seeing the seriousness of the situation, Veerpur SDM Neeraj Kumar and Bhimnagar Police Station Head Deepak Kumar also reached the spot and enquired about the condition of the soldiers. Apart from Veerpur SDM, SDPO Surendra Kumar is also camping in the subdivision hospital. While the treatment of the soldiers is going on under the supervision of Dr. Mrinal Kant.
The soldiers said that bad food is served
A trainee soldier Mukesh Kumar, amidst the crowd of sick soldiers, said that during the training, the food was getting spoiled. The soldiers were constantly protesting about the same food. But the officers did not pay any attention to this. Due to which, today after the food, the health of the soldiers undergoing training started deteriorating and during this time when the soldiers reached there, packets of sulphas were seen at the place where food was being cooked. Here, soldier Raghav Kumar has also said that packets of sulphas were recovered from the place where food was cooked. Along with this, he has accused of negligence in cooking food.
The soldiers created a ruckus during the treatment
The BMP trainees who reached the hospital suddenly started creating a ruckus due to the possibility of getting sick during treatment in the sub-divisional hospital as there was only one doctor. The soldiers said that in such a big hospital, treatment is being done by only one doctor. In such a situation, it will be morning by the time everyone is treated and in that time someone may die. In the same sequence, many soldiers also complained about the non-availability of medicines in the hospital.
Currently 8-10 jawans are being recruited and tested as a precaution
Here, Veerpur SDM Neeraj Kumar said that prima facie the case appears to be food poisoning. At present, the condition is being monitored. I am still in the hospital. SDPO Surendra Kumar said that 8 to 10 soldiers have been admitted due to serious condition. The remaining 200 soldiers have undergone precautionary tests. The situation is completely under control. He said that the case is of BMP camp premises, hence any action related to the soldiers falling ill will be taken on the instructions of senior officers.
