Same goes for Jamui (reserved) seat of Bihar, like Aurangabad and Nawada, the election campaign will stop on Wednesday evening. But, a big game has been played on Jamui seat. Former Deputy Chief Minister Tejashwi Yadav, who commanded the Rashtriya Janata Dal, is also a witness to this game, this video shows. Yes, this is from a video played. This one video is overshadowing all the equations, mathematics and election meetings. It reached a large population of Jamui only on Tuesday evening. People kept watching and forwarding it throughout the night. There are so many obscene things happening in this video that not even a single line of it can be published, but it is certain that it has changed the trend in an instant.
The video has done its job
It is clearly visible in this video that Tejashwi Yadav is on the mic to address the public meeting. Jamui’s Rashtriya Janata Dal candidate Archana Ravidas is standing next to him. And, right in front of the stage, objectionable things are being said about Chirag Paswan and his mother in front of RJD’s female candidate. Not once, but again and again. RJD supporters are saying these abusive words and while addressing former RJD MLA Vijay Kumar, they are claiming victory. This video is not from Tuesday, but it has created a storm since Tuesday. People are making this video viral by writing that this is the condition before winning, what will happen if you win?
Five out of six assemblies are with NDA
Jamui Lok Sabha seat includes four assembly constituencies of this district and one each of Munger and Sheikhpura districts. Jamui assembly seat is in the name of BJP’s Shreyasi Singh. Jhajha assembly seat is with Janata Dal United, Sikandra assembly seat is with NDA constituent Hindustani Awam Morcha – Secular. The independent from Chakai is Sumit Kumar Singh, who is a minister in the NDA government. On the other hand, Tarapur assembly of Munger district is also with JDU. There is RJD only in Sheikhpura seat of Sheikhpura district. Meaning, NDA has more to claim from this mathematics.
Men and women voters are equal here
The video that went viral is also important here because abusive words are being used for women and almost half of the total 19.50 lakh voters here are women voters. The number of women voters in Jamui Lok Sabha seat is 9.09 lakh. The women to whom this video would have reached, what decision would they take after hearing derogatory words for a woman in front of RJD’s female candidate – it is not very difficult to understand.
RJD’s base is strong, but history is not.
Last time Chirag Paswan had won the Jamui Lok Sabha seat by a huge margin. Here RJD’s base vote i.e. Yadav is said to be highest but last time it was given by the party of Grand Alliance candidate Upendra Kushwaha. The number of Yadav voters in this seat is said to be three lakh. After this there are two lakh Rajput-Vaishya voters each. One lakh each are said to be Bhumihar-Paswan voters. The number of Muslim voters is said to be 1.5 lakh. Despite the caste census, since district wise data is not available, only this estimated figure is included in the election calculations.
Chirag Paswan fielded his brother-in-law
Chirag Paswan of Lok Janshakti Party is the MP on this seat. This time his party Lok Janshakti Party (Ram Vilas) got this seat, but Chirag Paswan has fielded his brother-in-law Arun Bharti, keeping the Hajipur seat for himself. Chirag Paswan is on public target for this familyism. This is also because Arun Bharti had not previously acquired any land here. After the announcement of the name he came to Jamui as a new face.
Will Archana Ravidas’s hard work be useful?
Archana Ravidas was active on Jamui seat for about a year. When RJD made him its candidate, it did not seem unexpected. After the latest video goes viral, the people who vote on April 19 will decide whether the resentment against RJD will overshadow their hard work or not.
Small party, attention will also be given to NOTA
Former MP Bhudev Chaudhary, who fielded the Grand Alliance candidate from Upendra Kushwaha’s party in 2019 for Jamui Lok Sabha seat, has been in many parties. In 2019, he was defeated by Chirag Paswan in the Lok Sabha elections by a huge margin. Chirag Paswan had got more than 5.29 lakh votes, while Bhudev Chaudhary had to be content with 2.88 lakh. Bhudev Choudhary is now RJD MLA. Upendra Kushwaha is in the NDA camp with his party. In the last election on this seat, Bahujan Samaj Party had polled 31 thousand votes and NOTA had polled 39 thousand votes. Meaning, this time too both the important candidates will have to grapple with such factors. This is also because Padmashree awarded Dr. Jagdish Prasad is contesting the elections on the ticket of Democratic Social Justice Party.
