Karpuri Thakur kept him away from politics while he was alive
Ramnath Thakur was born on 3 March 1950. Elder brother Dr. Virendra Thakur was a doctor in the health department of Bihar government. Now he has retired. According to his family members, Jananayak Karpuri Thakur wanted to keep Ramnath Thakur away from politics. For this reason he was sent to Eraut village of Rosda for primary education. Ramnath Thakur passed the matriculation examination from the high school of Mohiuddinnagar. After this he passed the intermediate. At the age of 23, he was married to Asha Devi of Samastipur. They had three daughters Namita Kumari, Sneha Kumari, and Amrita Kumari. His wife Asha Devi died in the year 2020. Karpuri Thakur kept him away from politics while he was alive.
Lalu Prasad had made him MLC
After the death of Kapuri Thakur in 1988, Lalu Prasad Yadav made him MLC in 1989 and 1995. He was also a minister in the Lalu government. Then he left Lalu and joined Nitish Kumar. After this, he served as MLA twice and minister in the Bihar government Nitish cabinet. After being an MLA twice, Akhtarul Islam lost the election to Shaheen. After this, Nitish Kumar sent him to the Rajya Sabha. In the name of business, he has agriculture.
When he ran away to Samastipur his father felt very sad
Ramnath Thakur’s neighbor and childhood friend Shyam Bihari Singh says that in childhood he was average in studies. However, he was of friendly nature. He never quarreled with anyone.
