A woman committed suicide by hanging herself in Munger. The incident took place in West Azimganj Bhaiya Ram Tola of Haveli Kharagpur police station area. Family members say that the woman committed suicide after her seven-month-old child slept in her room. The deceased has been identified as Kajal, wife of Vishal Kumar Yadav, resident of Azimganj Bhaiya Ram Tola.
Neighbors informed about the incident
Family members say that people nearby informed them about the incident. Neighbors told the deceased’s maternal home, Rahimpur Kumarchak of Khagaria district, that Kajal, fed up with her husband’s torture, committed suicide. As soon as information about the incident was received, the parents reached there early in the morning on Saturday. People from the maternal side informed the Kharagpur police about the incident. After receiving information about the incident, Kharagpur police station incharge Dhravendra Kumar arrived with armed forces.
Daughter murdered for dowry
Family members say that the deceased woman Kajal Kumari was married to Vishal Kumar Yadav, son of Ambika Yadav, resident of Azimganj Bhaiya Ram Tola, on July 25, 2018. After marriage, Kajal was continuously harassed and beaten by her husband Vishal Yadav regarding dowry. Kajal’s father Bablu Kumar says that after marriage, her husband Vishal Kumar used to beat his daughter over dowry. The husband was addicted to alcohol. He had sold the bike given in dowry in order to drink alcohol and after a few years he again started demanding a new bike, a gold chain and Rs 50 thousand. When his demands were not met, he used to beat my daughter. Bablu Kumar told that by killing my daughter, her husband has given the form of suicide.
Forensic team engaged in investigation
Regarding the incident, Kharagpur police station incharge Dharmendra Kumar says that the body of the woman was sent to Munger Sadar Hospital for post-mortem. The police station chief said that the forensic team has also been called from Bhagalpur. He told that the deceased’s husband Vishal has surrendered himself in the police station. At present the police is interrogating him. He said that the father of the deceased has alleged that Kajal’s husband Vishal has murdered his daughter out of greed for dowry and made it look like suicide. Police Station Head Dharmendra Kumar said that the police is investigating the matter.
