A woman died during treatment in a nursing home in Gaya, Bihar. After the woman’s death, the family members created a ruckus in the nursing home. On receiving information about the ruckus, the police of the local police station reached the spot and pacified the matter by convincing the people. The incident took place in Dobhi block. The deceased was Poonam Kumari (22 years), wife of Sahendra Kumar, a resident of Bhauraaz village of Pratappur police station area of Jharkhand.
The family members alleged negligence in treatment
Regarding the incident, the deceased’s husband Sahendra Kumar says that he took his wife Poonam Kumari to Dhanvantari Nursing Home located on the Gaya-Dobhi road for delivery. The doctor here, Dr. Satyanarayan Saav, said that his wife’s condition was serious and asked for a major operation. The doctor deposited 40 thousand rupees for the operation. Delivery was done through operation on Thursday night. But after some time her health started deteriorating. The deceased’s husband said that his wife’s health started deteriorating on Friday. The nursing home staff was continuously informed about her deteriorating health. But the doctor was drunk, due to which the nursing home staff was continuously administering water (saline). In the morning, when the condition became very serious, an ambulance was called from Gaya and the woman was taken to Riddhi-Siddhi Nursing Home located in Chandauti of Gaya city. But she died before she could be admitted to this nursing home.
The family members created a ruckus
After this, the doctor and other staff who came from Dobhi left the deceased and her relatives and ran away. After this, the relatives brought Poonam Devi’s body outside Dhadhanvantari Nursing Home and created a ruckus. The relatives are holding the nursing home operator responsible for the death. The police of Dobhi police station has sent the body for postmortem after convincing the relatives. The police has started investigating the case.
