A youth died after falling from the roof in Shamsherganj locality of Nagar police station area of Darbhanga district. The deceased has been identified as Rajesh Joshi. As soon as information about the incident was received, the police of Nagar police station reached the spot, took possession of the body and sent it to DMCH for post-mortem. It is being told that when the relatives of the deceased, who was a drug addict, threatened to call the police, he tried to run from his rooftop to someone else’s rooftop to escape from the police. During this time he slipped and fell between two roofs.

It is said that the deceased Rajesh Joshi used to fight in his house every day after taking drugs. Even on Saturday evening, in an intoxicated state, he had an unnecessary argument at home. Seeing the dispute escalating, the family members threatened to call the police to scare Rajesh. After this, as soon as the family members called the police and asked Rajesh to be arrested, he ran away from the house. After some time he climbed onto the roof of a neighbor’s house. While trying to escape, as soon as he jumped from one roof to another, he stumbled and fell down from the roof. Due to this he died on the spot. After the incident, people informed the local city police station. Police reached the spot and inspected the spot.

Here, the family of the deceased, Ashish Kumar, says that the deceased Rajesh Joshi was a habitual drug addict and used to often fight inside the house when he was drunk. This time when he created a dispute, people asked to call the police, so as soon as he went to the terrace to chase him away, due to darkness, he fell from the terrace and died.
Police said- injury marks were found on the head
In this regard, City Police Station Inspector Mahesh Paswan said that after receiving information from the local people, the body is being sent to DMCH for post-mortem. He said that the deceased had fallen from the roof while running from one roof to another in fear of the arrival of the police. Injuries were found on the back of his head. The family members are being interrogated.
