In protest against the brutality with the woman doctor in Kolkata and the ruckus created by the mob in RG Kar Hospital, Darbhanga IMA has closed OPD services for 24 hours in all private hospitals including government hospitals. Patients are looking upset since morning due to the closure of OPD services in all government and private hospitals in Darbhanga. Please note that for the last four days in North Bihar’s biggest hospital DMCH, junior doctors have been expressing their protest by closing OPD services. And from today these junior doctors have also got the support of IMA, due to which the strike has become more effective from today.

Regarding the strike, Darbhanga IMA President Dr Haridamoder Singh has said that the incident of brutality with the resident doctor in Kolkata has shaken all the doctors. The mob vandalized the RG Kar Hospital in Kolkata with the intention of destroying evidence. During this, the resident doctors sitting on strike were also beaten up. This entire matter has raised serious questions about the safety of doctors. He has demanded immediate implementation of the Medical Protection Act for the safety of on-duty doctors.
