Voting for Panchayat by-election 2023 is starting from 7:00 am, which will continue till 5:00 pm. For this, a total of 1335 polling stations have been made, at which votes will be cast. Voting is being held for a total of 242 posts in 167 blocks of 36 districts. A total of 741943 voters will exercise their franchise in the Panchayat By-Election 2023, out of which 391010 are male voters, 350911 are female voters and 22 are other voters. By-elections are being held for the vacant posts of Ward Councilor in 16 wards of 15 municipalities in 12 districts of the state and Chief Councilor in one municipality.

Voting will be held in Imamganj and Koch blocks under Gaya district from 7:00 am to 4:00 pm. The number of candidates contesting in this by-election is 736, out of which 388 are female candidates and 348 are male candidates.

A total of 1675 posts were vacant for Panchayat By-Election 2023, out of which the election on 5 posts was postponed due to an error in the voter list. After this 1670 posts became vacant. Out of them, 945 candidates have been elected unopposed and 483 posts currently remain vacant.

To ensure that voting takes place in a peaceful and clean environment, FRS has ensured that voters are verified. Facial recognition systems have been installed at all voter centers so that voters can be identified. Besides, web casting is being conducted at all the polling stations related to the vacant post of Gram Panchayat Mukhiya.
