Injured laborers undergoing treatment at Munger Sadar Hospital

In Munger, more than two dozen laborers were injured when a pick-up loaded with laborers overturned in a pit. The injured include women and four children. It is said that all these laborers were going from Khagaria to Sheikhpura for harvesting. Then the pickup overturned in the pit near Scindia of Munger-Patna main road NH 80. There were 45 laborers in the pickup. Among them, the condition of three women laborers is said to be critical. Presently all the injured are being treated at Munger Sadar Hospital.

In this regard, the female laborer contractor Nirmala Devi, who is taking the laborers, says that we are residents of Beldaur in Khagaria district. I was going on a one-month booking with all the laborers to harvest the lentils planted in the field of Gad Wadiya area under Sheikhpura district of Lakhisarai resident landowner Vipin Sharma. He told that the driver of the pick-up van had stopped on the way and was intoxicated, due to which the pickup turned uncontrolled near Singhia while driving at a high speed and overturned in a pit. All the injured were taken to Sadar Hospital with the help of the local people. The driver fled from the scene of the accident . Doctors of Sadar Hospital Dr. Ajay and Dr. Roshan say that more than 25 laborers are injured. In which there are 21 women and 4 children. All are being treated.
