Chief Minister Nitish Kumar made a big statement in the meeting of the Grand Alliance Legislature Party in Bihar. He said that after him Deputy Chief Minister Tejashwi Yadav will lead the Grand Alliance. The Bihar elections of 2025 will be fought under the leadership of Tejashwi.
Nitish said that his aim is to remove BJP. I want to move forward to oust the BJP, not for the post of Prime Minister. It is as simple as that. It has to be fabricated. That’s why the MLAs of the Grand Alliance will have to unite. Actually, after the defeat in the Kudhani by-election, it was speculated that RJD did not support JDU and nothing is right in the Grand Alliance at this time.
On the Grand Alliance meeting, RJD’s Rishi Kumar said that we had held a meeting on our political strategy. Nitish Kumar said that he does not want to become CM in future. The second number leader is Tejashwi Yadav. If the CM does not want to continue, then another man in command will take his place.
Chief Minister Nitish Kumar on Sunday once again alleged that the BJP had hatched a conspiracy to defeat the JD(U) despite the alliance in the 2020 assembly elections. He reiterated that anti-BJP parties can win the 2024 Lok Sabha elections with a thumping majority, if they agree to join hands with each other.
He had alleged that the BJP was the reason for his party’s unsatisfactory performance in the last assembly elections. Without naming former alliance partner BJP, Nitish said they (BJP) should be reminded that never before had our party won less seats, be it in 2005 or 2010 assembly elections. We suffered in 2020 because they tried to defeat our candidates.
Nitish had also said that he was not keen on becoming the CM for another term, but agreed to take up the post on the insistence of the BJP. He said that Bihar did not get anything from the central government. He (PM Narendra Modi) belongs to a state which has been prosperous since the days of the British Raj. The country cannot progress without the development of poor states.
The Grand Alliance suffered a setback in the by-elections
Earlier, the grand alliance had suffered a major setback in the by-elections held on the Kudhani assembly seat in Bihar. Here BJP candidate got 76722 votes, in comparison JDU had to satisfy with 730736 votes. Kedar Prasad Gupta was nominated by the BJP and Manoj Kumar Singh by the Grand Alliance.
