A student went missing last night after drowning near Sita Ghat diversion of Lakhandai river in Sitamarhi city. After the incident, hundreds of people were searching for him around Lakhandai bridge. Despite hours of efforts, the boy could not be found. At the same time, people created a ruckus when the SDRF team arrived late. People said that if the SDRF team had reached on time, the student could have been found. There was even an altercation between the mayor and Dumra CO.

The missing child has been identified as Rudransh, 14-year-old son of Rakesh Ranjan alias Munna, resident of Deepak Stores Lane, Ward No. 14. At present, his search is still on. According to the information received, Rudransh was returning home with his friend after having breakfast at Basvariya Chowk. He was trying to cross the diversion built in the Lakhandei river, when his slipper got swept away in the strong current of water. When he bent to catch it, his foot slipped and he drowned in the river. Seeing this, his friend started shouting for help. People nearby ran and tried to search for him in the river. Many people even jumped into the water.
Search continues with the help of SDRF
People tried hard to save and find him but no one succeeded. After which the local police and administration were informed. On receiving the information, City Police Station Head Vinay Pratap Singh reached with his team. At the same time, some people complained to the DM. After this, the DM ordered Dumra CO Dolly Jha to search for the youth in the river with the SDRF team. The SDRF team arrived. His search began. Police say that the search for the student is going on with the help of the SDRF team.
