Suddenly smoke started coming out from a bogie of Darbhanga-bound Bihar Sampark Kranti Express (12565). The passengers felt that the bogie was on fire, due to which the passengers got upset. Immediately loco pilot stopped the train. After this the railway staff brought the fire under control. After thorough investigation, the train left after about 25 minutes.

Investigation revealed, there was a fire here

In fact, smoke suddenly started coming out from sleeper class bogie S2 of Bihar Jansampark Kranti Superfast train near Hayaghat-Thalwara station on Samastipur railway section. Investigation revealed that the binding brake of the bogie had caught fire. Due to this, strong smoke started rising. The passengers got upset. As soon as the train stopped, all the passengers got down from their bogies and came out. Passengers say that the railway staff took control of the fire. The train left after thorough investigation.

Railway said – there was no fire in the train

It is being told that Bihar Sampark Kranti Superfast was going to Delhi from New Darbhanga. In the same sequence, after some distance from Thalwara station, smoke started coming out due to brake binding of S2 bogie. Seeing this, there was a stir among the people aboard the train. After which the train was stopped by the driver of the train and the smoke was controlled. It was told from the railway side that there was no fire in the train. Rather smoke came out of the brake binding.

Confirming the incident, Alok Aggarwal, DRM, Samastipur Railway Division, said that the smoke emanated from coach number S2 of Bihar Sampark Kranti Superfast near Thalwara station due to brake binding. This was brought under control immediately. The train was dispatched after the situation became normal. There was no panic situation among the passengers. He said that many times this happens due to the brake shoe sticking in the middle of the flywheel.
