Expansion

Fruits have a lot of importance in the great festival of Bihar, Chhath Puja, but the importance of banana is something different. In this, the famous Chinese banana of Hajipur is in highest demand. But, the disappointing thing is that China Banana will not be able to participate in Chhath Puja this time. Flood, storm and rain destroyed China banana crop in Diara area of Hajipur. Farmers of Hajipur used to send Chinese bananas from all over the country on the occasion of Chhath festival. But, this time there is not even enough banana to be available among the people of Hajipur.

Know the specialty of banana of Hajipur

Malbhog, Alpan and China bananas of Hajipur have their own distinct specialties. The sweetness and taste of Chinese banana and Malbhog is more than what is produced in other states. People eat it with great enthusiasm. It is also more beneficial than other bananas. This banana of Hajipur is also supplied by farmers in different states. This demand is highest in all the markets of the country. But, this year farmers are unable to meet the demand. The economic condition of the farmers of this area depends only on banana plantations.

Disasters have broken our back.

Farmers say that many natural disasters that occur from time to time have broken our back. Due to the government not including banana in crop insurance, farmers of the area have to suffer huge financial losses every year. Sometimes due to drought and sometimes due to excessive rainfall, banana production has been adversely affected. This time rain, wind and flood water have broken the backs of farmers. On the occasion of Chhath, people here have become dependent on bananas imported from outside. Bananas from Kolkata, Assam and Madras are being sold in the market. After not getting a good crop locally, the traders are importing bananas from outside and selling them in the markets.
