An investment meet and road show was held in the national capital New Delhi on Friday for investment and wide publicity in the field of Bihar tourism. This program was organized at Ashoka Hotel in Chanakyapuri from 10.30 am.
Addressing the investment meet, state tourism minister Nitish Mishra told the investors that Bihar has heritage and it is also being developed. Bihar Tourism Secretary Abhay Kumar Singh addressed Delhi-based businessmen, travel agents, tour operators and hoteliers associated with the tourism industry in the program and shared with them information about the schemes, programs and policies being run by the Bihar Tourism Department. The Tourism Secretary said that a lot of work is being done at the policy level along with infrastructure in all circuits in the field of tourism in Bihar, in which many facilities are being provided in the tourism industry, including subsidies. Its positive results are visible, it is being improved further.
At the same time, Resident Commissioner Kundan Kumar said that the new industrial policy of the Bihar government has created a lot of opportunities for investors. Due to this, industrial investment has increased significantly. MoUs worth more than Rs 50 thousand crore have been signed in Bihar Business Connect 2023, due to which investments are being made in the field of tourism from general industrial activities. This is improving the scenario. He further said that he is also an investment commissioner along with the Resident Commissioner, so if anyone has any problem, he can contact him at any time.
Managing Director of Tourism Corporation Nand Kishore put forth the details of the tourism policy. He said that tour operators or hoteliers of all states will only have to open an office in Bihar and take GST. After this, they too can avail the benefit of a grant of up to Rs 25 crore for building hotels, theme restaurants and parks, meditation centers, golf courses, rural villages, etc.
While giving the vote of thanks in the program, Bihar Tourism Director Vinay Kumar Rai said that 8.21 crore domestic and foreign tourists have arrived in Bihar in 2023. We have to improve this figure further. In the program, Bihar’s new tourism policy, the updated status of the development of tourist facilities were told through a power point presentation. Along with this, a question-answer session was also organized, in which the Tourism Secretary answered the questions of all the stakeholders.
